Lately

I'm not very good at blogging. I am doing this to keep my family and friends in the know on our new lives in Washington D.C. and I am doing a terrible job of doing that. So this post is dedicated to life lately.

1) The famous cherry blossoms of D.C. bloomed! We had heard a lot about them and figured we had to check them out.
The University of Oklahoma's (the husband's alma mater) was playing the University of Maryland, so we drove out to Maryland to watch the match.

OU won!!!!
On the way back to NOVA (Northern Virginia...it's what the locals call it) we drove through D.C. to see these supposedly amazing cherry blossoms.
We found them.

As you can see from the picture above, we clearly took the time to get out of the car and enjoy them to their full potential...that or we still haven't figured out where to park downtown.

2) I found a gym!

3) We bought a hutch! Pictures soon. (You know you are an adult when you would rather spend money on a hutch than a new pair of jeans.)

4) We bought some very adult leather couches! Pictures of those soon too.

5) We are going to the Smithsonian this weekend! Yay!

6) We still haven't found a church. Please pray that God will show us the place for us very soon! We have visited several but we still don't know where God wants us. It gets a bit discouraging when you have visited 5 churches and you don't really like any of them.

Wedding Photo Wednesday

Okay it's Thursday, but I decided I would share my favorite wedding photos every Wednesday (I clearly did not get around to putting this idea into action yesterday). I loved every part of our wedding and I am so grateful we have amazing pictures to look back on.

There are so many good ones! It is so hard to choose! Here are three of my favorites:

The dress. Impossible to walk in and I almost tripped going down the aisle...but look at it. Totally worth it.

I love every picture of the husband and I from that amazing day.

The community prayer was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. We felt so much love from everyone around us.

More pictures and post to come soon!

We are moving to Washington D.C.!

Okay so we already moved...I'm a little behind...and technically we live in Fairfax, Virginia but Washington D.C. makes us sound hipper so I'm gonna go with that.

My plane ticket when we came to visit our new home...and one of the first times Hannah Whitson was printed!!

Our new stomping grounds.

After looking at about twenty apartments we finally narrowed it down to one. We both love the kitchen and it had tons of windows and doors. So far we like it a lot.

 The entry way

 Our kitchen

 The large second bedroom

The living room with lots of light

Once we are all moved in I will post pictures of the finished product.
It's a long process especially when you have as much crap  stuff as we do.
I may just start throwing stuff outside and hope that someone comes by and picks it up.

A Lot Can Happen In a Year

I'm just going to cut to the chase here...it's been approximately 1 year and 6 1/2 months since my last blog post. Oops? Let's just say that I have been a little busy with the following:
- Getting a job
- Getting a boyfriend
- Getting engaged
- Losing said job
- Getting married
- Moving to Washington D.C.

Like I always say (and I do actually always say this, you can ask my friends) a lot can happen in a year!

You may be wondering why I decided to start up the ol' blog again after all this time and the reason is simply I  had to. There are a limited amount of reasons why someone can start a blog, but when one is recently married and moves halfway across the country they are basically required to blog.

That being said I am not crafty or great at coming up with new recipes, so don't be expecting any DIYs on how to repurpose an old ottoman into a hutch in three easy steps. This is just my way of filling my mom  friends and family in on what we are up to on our adventure in D.C.!!!

Sorry for the wordy post but I had to get started somewhere... Posts to look forward to in the coming days:
- Engagement pics
- Wedding pics
- Honeymoon pics
- New apartment pics

P.S. Any suggestions for a new tagline??
